Longdog
Hi Just wondering if any one can tell me anything about the stone in the wall of a house near the southern end of New Street in Scalloway. I know it is to to with the tides, but does any one have a photo/sketch/transcript of it in better condition or know why it is there? Intriguing... Heimdal
Some ifo here..http://shetlopedia.com/William_Johnson and on the 'discussion' page. He also invented a type of grate which was well-received and a few were made by a blacksmith in Scalloway. Don't know what was special about it though.
