jz
Sorry to nag again, but there is a different scam posing as an advert. "UK Job vacancies - starting at £56 Per Hour" Leads to http://w.w.w.britishnewsdaily.com/job-tips/ How does "British News" have a "stay at home mom" There's lots of other crap there. (*** Mod - Delinkified the URL and mangled it a bit ***)

Fjool
Yup, the quality of the adverts could do with addressing. Some very poor ones appearing - particularly those mentioned above. (>_ Thanks for highlighting.
EM
There are public health ads appearing which, though non-dodgy, are inappropriate. Basically they are aimed at the US population and tell us to call 911 on the first sign of a stroke. Clearly the ads don't pose much of a risk, but are potentially dangerous. Fjool
Hmm... I haven't seen that one personally, but I'll keep my eyes peeled. Thanks for the heads up.
Ghostrider
Just FYI. I've had to reluctantly Adblock Plus y'all. It had come to the point that each page was locking up the computer for 15-20 seconds while it loaded fully, and the fans on this computer were kicking in and going to flat oot from as soon as a page began to load. It seemed to be the BT and BT/Sky Ads that were the killer, and they've been on extremely high rotation all day. At no time have I ever gotten a page with less than one on it, most have had all three, which seemed to bring this old puter close to raising the white flag. Now with old Beattie gone, you're back to normal bat out of hell loading form, and my fans aren't getting worn out.
unlinkedstudent
^^ Seconded. That BT advert is a real killer!
peeriebryan
The BT ads have been cancelled. Hopefully that'll improve things for you

Ghostrider
Is this a particularly appropriate ad on a forum (the "Prev" and "Next" buttons in the image, they aren't buttons, they're a banner ad): http://i460.photobucket.com/albums/qq330/Redneck_Hillbilly0504/Shetlink-1.jpg Not seen it before, but it was the header on my PM Inbox page just now, and could awfully easily be mistaken for being a part of the site, especially on a forum where such buttons are commonplace. Unfortunately I didn't get the URL it leads to, I thought I'd Ctrl=C'd it before moving away, but it hadn't taken. Also while I was among my PM's two different versions of "You've got 1 message waiting" flashing ads appeared, one in the header and the other in the footer. Misleading enough on any site where you could well have a genuine message, but on the PM pages anyone who is less than very familiar with the site is likely to be caught out. Fjool
^ Eww... that is a particularly obnoxious one. Haven't seen it yet, but will keep my eyes peeled. This evening, mine are all telling me I'm fat.
Ghostrider
^^ The "You've 1 message waiting" ones are on the Flash Player, as is the equally dodgy looking one "Your IP has been selected in Dunfermline. You have 2 minutes to claim your prize". So it not possible to see who they're for without clicking through. Not had the one in the image again, but the URL was one of those "Ad Farm" types. The Flash Player ones though seem most prevalent on secondary pages, the PM Inbox, Post reply etc, rather than on the main forum pages. Not had much on those unless the ones telling me I'm fat too (like I didn't know already ), and "Housewife makes £77/hour" etc.
daveh
Housewife makes £77/hour Is that the going rate these days?
