Hilltop
During the last war there was a fairly extensive army camp in Gulberwick, just above the Crap corner. The camp included the usual accommodation blocks, a generator house, garage workshops, dugouts further up the hill and some buildings within the quarry which I filled in many years ago. I know photography of defence installations was strictly prohibited but does anyone know if a photograph of the camp exists? I remember some of the walls of the buildings standing but that was all demolished by William Fraser in the mid 50's
MuckleJoannie
It might be worth contacting the Imperial War Museum. A friend of mine was there looking for Shetland Bus photos and he told me they had a huge archive. There is a mail order form here. http://isl.iwmcollections.org.uk/ImageOrderForm.pdf
