I remember when I was young the hill climbs at sumburgh , sunbeam lotus tearing up the hill , the engine note on that thing ! Must still be a hill with a decent road somewhere, bet some of the diesels would be in the running as well up the hill .

I remember taking part  you could just get into 3rd gear across the finish line if you were lucky.

Sunbeams were impressive - had a shot of the blue Avon one, the dog leg box was a nightmare if you weren't used to it

We looked in to hill climbs the last time and if I remember right in order to take part the cars would need a roll cage and electrical cut off the drivers would need full race gear suit and helmet. Now how many people are going to do that?

The blue sunbeam was owned by the same guy who had the black one iirc , from spiggie ?

If I remember correctly he did own them both, can't remember in which order though, I think he had the blue one and took the black one in p/ex, I'm sure the black one had the skip brown big valve head conversion.

Thinking about it, I think he owned the black one twice...

What was the outcome of the meeting yesterday as I couldn't make it

There was over 60 people who turned up, and after a lengthy discussion, we have called an AGM which is taking place on Sunday 22nd April 2012 in The Cunningsburgh Hall at 8pm.

Here we will elect a committee and start working on the clubs plans. If you are on facebook, we have started a page where views and opinions are welcome..

Right folks, just to keep you up to date - thats the membership forms online. If you can take the time to print off and complete the form and hand it in at the AGM if possible. If you are unable to hand in at the AGM then please wait until we get an updated version with a postal address on it - or give it to someone who is attending with the fee :)

Its vital that we get as many memebers as possible to get things moving, so please take the time to complete one... The fees are £25 for adults and £10 for under 16's. Proper membership cards will be issued once available.

We hope to see as many of you as possible at the AGM, in the Cunningsburgh Hall, Sunday 22nd April @ 8pm :)

If you have any questions, please stick them on this page, and someone will get back to you as soon as possible :)
