I take it it's the grotty "I am a wanabee rebbel but can't spel innit" variety an' that Banksy hasn't paid Shetland a weekend visit, then?

That would piss me off somethin rotten. I know what I'd like te do with the can if I caught the beggars vandalisin me hoose... 🔫💀🚑

I think the rozzers would be the best way te go, mesel. Course the Mounthooly Mafia or Vidlin Vigilantes may have other ideas. 👊😲

Aww, c'mon, the big smoke would benefit from a bit of colour, even if it comes in the badly spelled, can't draw for peanuts variety, its just a sea of gray otherwise. Used to be quite a bit of it about even 30+ years ago, nobody seemed too bothered back then, what's changed?

The more folk fuss over it, the more will get done.... no reaction = uncool to do.

Problem is the longer you leave it, the more it spreads, especially if it's in a 'teen hangout'. I've seen it happen :(

I'm hoping to have some friends come up and they have seen the beautuful pics on the tourism sites. Was in town today and realised I'm going to have to apologise for the state of it :S

Has anyone else noticed Graffiti around Mounthooly Street in Lerwick? I've notice a few bits and I wondered if there is a problem elsewhere, I am going to report it to the police I think

Just you go and report it then... No need to tell everyone in Shetland that your going to do it!!

Pointless post.

Well said, owre-weel, well said! :)

Now, if poor ould sausagedog had burbled about a fresh road accident, or broadband speed or - best of all! gasp😱 - the polis, then their resident spokesperson an' part-time "Shetlan" wannabe (yup, 'annidder', as they'd say...sometimes! ) would be aaaaaaaaaaaaaall over that one.

I think "Smokey Bear" might be better, whaddayasay Constable?? ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

(Dairylea, me bucko, I heard its all a conspiracy te annoy ye an ruin yer day. Sssssh! It'll just be our li'l secret! If the fairies that told me find out I grassed... ulp! Curdled milk fer a year! 😠😭)

Nope not been there recently.

However I have noticed a fair bit around the bolts area. The usual crap sprayed onto the walls.

What a mean spirited and unpleasant bunch of replies. The OP posed a simple question, and a generalised comment that they would report the graffiti problem to the correct authorities, these hardly deserved the childish comments that followed.

Yes I've noticed the graffiti- some clever clogs thinks its smart to spray 'SHOVEL' on a number of front & back doors, garages & retail properties.

Looks awful and I wouldn't mind being able to 'shovel' their spray can somewhere else!!
