shetlandpeat
The great thing is it will get Shetland more interest and they could end up at these forum and sites that are more about promoting Shetland. Can only be a good thing, no matter what, hang on though, I remember seeing a newspaper folded on a cable drum at Sumburgh Light talking about a murder, the paper had been there for a while. So, there is your first murder, sure bet there have been some more. Anyhow, Shetland is a good place outside of these scribbles, badly told or otherwise. peerieivan
All these complaints about the lack of Shetland accents - when did you last walk around either of our major supermarkets? The surprise comes when you DO hear a Shetland accent.
Ledi
I'm afraid it was even worse than I feared. I don't know where to start but I lasted half an hour before I realised it was a hotch-potch of nothing and was bored. The patronising scene with the old "Shetland" man who said since the advent of Sullom Voe we've no idea who's here, and was then told to take his pills was insulting. The characters were awful. It just failed on every level.... http://www.shetlandtimes.co.uk/2013/03/11/mixed-reviews-for-bbcs-crime-drama-shetland http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/tv-and-radio-reviews/9920728/Shetland-BBC-One-review.html Read the comments here: http://primetime.unrealitytv.co.uk/shetland-douglas-henshall-features-in-this-new-mystery-drama-but-the-island-is-the-real-star/

How so? It is a fair enough stab at a scene relevant to the story. It might not be cutting- edge dialogue, but some commentators don't seem to understand fiction. Toast Rider
Didn't the old woman do it? You know , the one who says in the trailer:"we're all related in one way or another in Shetland". I reckon.
Hamiltonian
How much of the indoor filming was done on Shetland. My children have photographs taken inside the camping bod in Voe and they're sure that it's the same but nobody has recognized any other interiors.ps. I'm really really sure that's not the hospital! lol

ariel
Bit of a shambles tonight. Too many changes or no good reason, staying closer to the books would've improved it. Hope they do get to make more, just hope they get a better script team. Actors not bad, but need better material. No they don't need to speak dialect. No dialect is better than fake, anytime, and we don't all speak it.
midget1965
Cruise ships & Up Helly Aa there's a combination...oh dear they didn't think that one through very well did they... Poor filming, poor story, did nothing for Shetland and the Jarl Squad looked a mess. The Guizer Jarl looked awful with no proper beard and just looked a mess.
