nortien
Since my wife and I are now the owners of a large lawn, she has decided that 'we' should get it looking presentable. Its lumpy, with dandelions, daisys, thistles, dockens, other plants I don't recognise, and of course grass Is there anywhere in shetland that hires out garden equipment? I don't want to also end up as the proud owner of a lawnroller, a feed spreader, etc. TIA
Ghostrider
LBC, Garriock Bros possibly. Probably other similar outfits. If you're looking at machine hire charges, time/fuel to collect/return them etc, you might be almost as well off just to hire a ground maintenance outfit on a season's contract to tidy it up to how you want it and come back to trim it at mutually agreed intervals. mikeyboy
A good cylinder mower is the only tool you will ever need.A bit of feed and weed every year should get rid of the weedes and get the grass in better condition. For the bumps you could maybe borrow a roller.http://www.lawnsmith.co.uk/novice/lawn-mowers/which-lawn-mower-is-best
nortien
I'll see if Garriock or LBC hire out simple garden equipment, although i'm not really looking for petrol powered stuff. Tbh if I knew someone to borrow a roller off of, I doubt if I would be asking where to hire one; and with 1/2 an acre of grass (its more hill/field than lawn) the Weed/Feed would be a lot easier with a spreader of some sort. nortien
Your right, you did offer advice, but you didn't even attempt to answer my question. And your also right I was rude, which I apologise for, but it's a pet hate of mine people posting replies that don't contribute to answering the original posters question.
