wastafirth 01
Going out to celebrate a birthday next weekend and not sure where to go for a decent meal with the other half. Definitely don't want Chinese or Indian. Monty's too fancy; Museum's evening menu is generally seafood based and not a hit with wife... Don't mind travelling a bit out of town if there's a "hidden" gem further afield either. It'll be a Friday night feast (hopefully) so roll on your recommendations - thanks! Shetlandstar
Hello there! I agree with what someone else said - The grand hotel do pretty good meals and they are not to pricey either. I personally prefer the bar area, but they have a nice restaurant too. I have always been pleased with meals that I have had in the Grand Hotel that I have even booked the grand for my wedding meal. I hope this helps in some way and that wherever you decide to go, you all enjoy your meal and have a nice time.Kindest Regards,From Tracey. Guest CyprusPluto
Many nice places, but I have to agree with ShetlandStar. The Grand is lovely. Food nice and plentiful, atmosphere pleasant and peaceful, service and prices very good.

MJ
Scalloway hotel is a hit in this household, from the fussy 87year old to the fussy 13year old. The fish curries have got the later eating fish again (usually made with a single lump of well cooked meaty white fish). But there's a good selection of dishes for non fish eaters too.Coffee's good too, and I recommend having coffee with the chocolate delights plater.
