HN38
o i forgot about the Maryfield in my previous post definatly a good choice to, if you go for the restaurant side you can get a 5 course very tasty meal for about £32 a head (was about that last time was there)
JustMe
Anyone got thoughts about Saxa Vord and the Baltasound Hotel? Have had good food in both in the past. And going the other way the Spiggie Hotel was good. Or of course for a good value meal then Frankies Fish and Chips sounds excellent. Malcolm
How about the Braewick Cafe/Restaurant? Good food, good atmosphere and the views are stunning.
wastafirth 01
Just want to say thanks for your replies. After all that.... we ended up at Monty's - the wife seen food she was prepared to eat on the menu and the whole meal was delicious. Couldn't have faulted one part of it. Off to Shetland Hotel later this week - fingers crossed it's good too!
Girzie
Baltasound Hotel food is excellent. Haven't been to Saxa Vord this year yet but last year it was rubbish. Hopefully they may have a new chef.
Magnie-na
Went for a birthday meal with the family - haven't been before - went on recommendation. Disappointing starter selection, small steaks but the service was attentive and pleasant. Don't think I'll go again, much prefer Monty's and not much price difference. Oh and did I say don't go to the Hillswick Hotel?

happygolucky
I tell you where I went and was really surpized was drumquinn guest house in Brae they have now turned the conservatory area into a lovely coffee shop which has a small but excellent menu for lunch thought we would try that instead of Frankies at lunch time very reasonable prices all home made food. They also will cook to order for evening meals bring your own wine at lunch and dinner highly recommended

John D'oh
I stayed at Baltasound hotel in 2011 and the food was good and most of the staff friendly. Edit, it was in 2010. How time flies
