Iknow
What kind of music do you like I.S ?
ArabiaTerra
@ I.S I've never come across Olanzapine, I have heard of Seroquel, anyway I don't mess with them. Diazepam (mothers little helper) is very bad though and can lead to years of addiction - stay away!Citalopram keeps me on track (even though the long term effects are yet unknown) and recently nobody should be taking more than 40mg per day - I've heard. I know people think I'm a troll, honesty I'm not. Billy does appear to be a troll though, and I am in no way connected to him/her (anyone with basic hacking/research skills should be able to find this out)Popcorn though I like (again not connected to me) but I like the way he/she upsets Shetlanders and their golden bubble! I agree about the Citalopram, kept me right for years. No side effects either unlike some of the other stuff I tried (Seroxat).
I.S
Anything with a tune. Look up "eclectic", in the dictionary, and there should be a little picture of me, waving. There, yes, that's me there!
I.S
John D'Oh, I think the OP (the late great shouty man) was alluding to the idea that you choose "which atrocities to fight for". He was, I believe, attempting to illustrate this with his incredibly generalised comment, to the effect that large numbers of soldiers and Police - in effect (in his mind, at least) servants of The State - are "waking up" to the fact that they are fighting for different atrocities. He just didn't indicate who they all are, or provide any evidence, whatsoever, for his statement. Or even what these "atrocities" are.
Iknow
I 'hate' people who say they have a very wide taste in music, from Abba to Zappa. Eclectic bullturdters who know nothing about music. Most people say this though, and they have no idea how stupid they come across.I have spent my entire life reseaching music/history/music technology/musicology and obscure forms of music from all over the globe. So when you say 'I like all kinds of music' you are full of bullstein, wake up and realise it takes a lifetime to do this!Sorry Rant over
I.S
So, let me get this one straight, you say, "I have spent my entire life reseaching music/history/music technology/musicology and obscure forms of music from all over the globe." I would contest that a man would need at least one more lifetime than he is allotted, to do as you have claimed. That's supposing you're not, in fact, the worlds oldest living man by around 50 odd years. Gosh, what it must be like to be you, a self-professed expert on everything. Not even moderately annoyed, by the way, just further amused by your latest pettish, elitist outburst. You obviously haven't studied English much - or used that dictionary - as the word eclectic can describe someone who forms taste and can draw influence from a broad and diverse spectrum of sources. Rather like Beck, for example, will say he does with his music. Or the truly gifted and great innovative musicians (and other artists) will often do, should they be afforded the wherewithal/opportunity/sheer drive to do so. We would not have modern music, in all its varieties, were it not for established or upcoming, struggling musicians scorning the establishment for eclecticism. For any alleged student (I note you say "studied" rather than "mastered" - this may be telling, somewhat, in your outburst) to make such a statement scorning any other who might not choose to listen to, and enjoy, solely one style of music - does such a person even exist outwith the most remote areas of the world? ) is rather surprising, to say the very least. As one grows older - I would be curious to learn in which decade of your life you may be - one's musical tastes often broaden and diversify. The "Stiff Little Fingers", "Ramones", "Rolling Stones", or "Foster & Allen" even, of one's youth, may find a small place on the shelf for Puccini, Beethoven, Bluegrass, Dean Martin, Lennon & McCartney, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Johnny Cash, PIL, "Cabaret Voltaire", "This Petrol Emotion", or "Slipknot" - although, personally, I abhor the latter. Do you dispute any of this? If you do, you are, quite simply, self-absorbed and narcissistic in the extreme, where no other view, other than that provided by your own questionable expert knowledge of "world music", can be correct. If you do not dispute what I have stated then, therefore, I am correct, and my tastes may quite freely - regardless of your position on the matter - be described as "eclectic". "Definition of eclecticadjective1deriving ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources:universities offering an eclectic mix of courses2 (Eclectic) Philosophy denoting or belonging to a class of ancient philosophers who did not belong to or found any recognized school of thought but selected doctrines from various schools of thought.nouna person who derives ideas, style, or taste from a broad and diverse range of sources." Iknow
@Scorrie I suggest you go back and look at what you just posted, where did I say that I claim to know the opinion and 'attitude' of each individual in a community the size of Shetland - did you actually go to school? You are just another example of a complete Shetland uneducated idiot who probably finds it hard to actually write words on a piece of paper. Next time ask your autistic nephew to proof read your posts before you make an even bigger fool of yourself in front of people who are even more stupid than you!
