ArabiaTerra
I'm looking to upgrade my 120Gb SSD to a 240Gb SSD, without re-installing windows, steam, skyrim and all the associated mods, if I can avoid it. Just making a clone of my system disc , C:, on the 240Gb disc and then swapping the 2 drives. Can anyone recommend a utility for doing this? JordanKZ
I recently used Macrium Reflect to clone a HDD. Worked perfectly. The PC didn't think anything had changed. http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx
ArabiaTerra
^^^^ Tried that, didn't work. The drive cloned successfully, but the computer wouldn't recognise it as a boot drive. I'm going to try a fresh install of Win 7x64 on the drive then restore a full back-up on top of that. Thanks for the suggestion anyway. Spinner72
The only really reliable boot disk cloning software I have found is Acronis Trueimage. They often give away old versions as unlimited trials when a new version is due, or can be found on Ebay for a fiver. It is a one of those rare occasions where I have found retail software to be better than freeware.
