Seeking Interviewees

Hello Everyone,

 

I'm an anthropologist from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) currently conducting research on the Shetland dialect in Bressay. I'm not so much interested in compiling a dictionary or wordlists as that has already been done. Rather, I'm interested in hearing about people's use of the dialect and how the dialect relates to their life histories. Currently, I am looking for some individuals, who would be interested in being interviewed on a semi-regular basis. If you're interested, please feel free to PM me. I'm a sympathetic ear and more than happy to listen to what YOU think is important (your opinions on the dialect, your concerns, your hopes, &c).
