Its great seeing the airport so busy, iam a regular flyer through sumburgh twice per month min, and its often very quiet, but great when your photos show just what does land in shetland.

does anyone know why they closed the bit upstairs in airport which had all the old photos etc? also does anyone have the web address where lots of old photos of sumburgh?

Sumburgh is a complete disaster as far as seeing aircraft from the building, once you are inside that's it, useless.

I too would be interested if there are specific web addresses for aircraft at Sumburgh but other than these it seems you really need to scratch around :-

^ Have to admit I had a sneak look at your Exif data. :)

Today very poor visibility at Sumburgh and then tonight the sun appeared and this S-92 G-IACE appeared at the hangers. Nice colours and a beaut of a tractor !

Oh no, it's Rover - the Security Guard/ball from "The Prisoner"!

Wonder if they've drafted him in as a new weapon in the fight against drugs being brought in by sea? ;)

I think it ain't in brilliant nick upstairs. I was also told there was no lift and therefore not DDA compliant hence being shut off.
