Kavi Ugl
Na, an Icelandic translation doesna work, I'm tried it before. I can translate some of it though. Basically, it says, "Yesterday when the Norrona was passing Shetland the Shetland Coastguard rescue helicopter paid her a visit". The headline seems to say that she landed on the Norrona but the skipper says it was no problem. The skipper of the Norrona just says that Rescue 102 is a big helicopter but that the captains are highly skilled and that they have occassionally had to call on Shetland Coastguard to airlift sick passangers. The Faroese news has been reporting lately that Smyril Line have now turned things around and are making a profit so in my opinion the stake we have in Smyril Line keeps the door open for the Norrona calling into Lerwick once again. gafynandrew
^ I tink the " sorrowful wailings " might have been coming from wiz een's on shore holding out our empty kroner buckets as she passed by ! http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2837/9427950058_2c89910608_c.jpgNorrona IMG_6782 by Ronnierob, on Flickr Maybe I'm just being bitter and synical here but can't the council lobby the govt. to ban all Smyril shipping from entering Shetland/UK waters until they've paid back the money that the SIC gave them? Muppet
The SIC didn't 'give' them money and then lose it. The SIC bought a share in the company which they still own and in theory could still earn a return on, or sell or do whatever they like with.
