^ Really? They must be storing the steel and piledriver a long way away, nothing like that has been seen near the Ness in many a year that I'm aware of.

 

Seems strange that they've spent so long making all these "X Blocks" and dumping them in as armouring, when they could have done the piling last summer and backfilled it pretty quickly afterwards. But no doubt some engineer(s) someplace know much better about such things that me.

More choppers of a different kind at Sumburgh today. Dropping in to re-fuel before heading on to the frozen north were three Royal Navy Westland WS-61 Sea Kings :-
