Trout81
I want to build but worried about planning, its about 2 meters from the road but the existing one stood for 60+ years but blew down two winters ago, the foundation is still good so I thought I would just build the garage back up on it, it will be 5m X 3m (15 meters squared) and doors will not be facing the road. I'm I allowed to do this?if so what are the rules? And if not are they any way around it? cheers
unlinkedstudent
This might help:- http://www.pkc.gov.uk/NR/rdonlyres/762C3165-9A44-403F-86EC-257C10A1C7D9/0/FEB12_PERMISSION_GARAGE.pdf as it appears on the face of it to give general guidance concerning Scottish legislation on planning for garages. Why don't you just phone up Planning though to see if any additional rules apply to Shetland?
Guest tiodylb17
I dont think they can do a thing if you build it without planning , as long as its a similar size to the original
paulb
cheaper to check than get caught and made to pull it down. the planners don't bite.
Silvercloud
Hi, don't think you need planning but you may need a building warrant because of how close it is to the road, but check anyway.
