peeriebryan
I've just read this on the Shetland News site - Invites out for new Shetland party Members of the local branch of the UK Independence Party have now jointly left UKIP to work on the concept of a new local partyAm I right in thinking UKIP was briefly lead by Kilroy-Silk! The party would strive for greater autonomy, would be anti-EU, would be neither socialist nor right wing, and would build politically on the work the Shetland and Orkney Udal Law (SOUL) group has been doing over the last years.Anti EU? Surely not a good thing for Shetland Neither socialist nor right wing? Yet run by members of the very right wing UKIP Party, and in MHO, Udal law appears to be a fairly left wing concept. Political schizophrenia? What Alistair Carmichael votes on has nothing to do with us, it is always the party that tells him what to do.Considering the sterling work Mr Carmichael has done recently re: Shetland for Sakchai, I'm not sure they'll garner much support by taking a pop at him just now, especially in light of UKIP's anti immigration policies That's the first I've heard of it, so I'll be watching the situation with interest Has anybody got any more info on this new party?
