mutopian
Nope, for about £150 you get a freeview satellite box. As it says on the adverts. Are you sure thats Freeview though and not the Free to Air(?) channels via Sky ? I only ask as theres no mention whatsoever of a satellite version on the Freeview website that I can see. Tomblands
I know. It was great finding out about Sawyer being killed before the rest of the UK knew. Gee - thanks for that No probs, where are we up to in the UK? Did I just post a massive spoiler?
mutopian
Halfway through the series and given that Sawyer is still very much alive in it I guess so.

moomin
I've got Freeview, all you need's a decent aeriel and a good signal. None of your rust-buckets hanging off my gable end - and yes, Film4 is a-cummin'! I'd recommend it - though sadly no Discovery etc.

I know because i have one. Though i never got it working because of a slight obstruction in the way of my aerial (Very large building) . It is a work in progress though... JustMe
Well it would seem you get the good old beeb free BBC Satellite freeview page I am fairly sure you can also buy a digibox and sat dish from a local installer. Worth comparing costs with that £150. Perhaps also worth waiting if that money is a problem. Somewhere I have seen something about the poor getting help just before the analogue switch off if they do not have a digital terrestrial signal. Pooks
I know. It was great finding out about Sawyer being killed before the rest of the UK knew. Hmm. As someone who has been following the American schedule...as far as I am aware Series 3 doesn't start until October and !!!SPOILER ALERT!!! Sawyer is alive and well. That is unless I missed something. Then again a polar bear being alive and well in such conditions is unlikely so perhaps Sawyer is indeed dead. In fact they may all be dead. It might just be some mad kinda Afterdeath experience by one of the islands occupants...or indeed all of them.

Ally
Sky was always a funny one for me. I resented the idea of giving Murdoch and his cronies any of my cash, so I got ONdigital when it came out. It was crap compared to sky. Then I subscribed to telewest when I moved down to Edinburgh. Again, the user interface and level of service was dismal in comparison to satellite. Last Year my flatmate bought a massive TV and we got the full sky package. Again, I was reluctant at first, but for sheer range, reliability, speed and ease of use It can't be beaten. This year we got Sky + and, although it pains me to say it, it's fantastic. Series linking stuff so you never miss anything. Not staying up late to watch that movie cos you know can simply save it and watch it another time at the touch of a button. Best of all, fast forwarding through the adverts of any programme you've Sky plused, especially since Cable/Satellite have adverts that last about 6 mins. Having said that, if you’re not that arsed about TV then maybe free-view is the way to go. All the old ONdigital receivers still receive it up just fine if you’ve got a decent aerial. You can pick them up on Ebay for less than a tenner.
