If you are aware of someone deliberately selling faulty goods on Shetlink please send a mod a PM and we'll deal with it, thanks. Please don't name and shame.

On the basis that the classifieds are not modified properly now, how would this help?

The point being to warn other potential 'victims' of a rogue seller or dealer, so that others are not conned.

There should be no trades advertised as per the rules, so theoretically this should not be an issue - however, as is seen every day the rules are not enforced.

I don't think its fair to blame the moderators for not "modifying" the classifieds as they decided to purchase the item, therefore the contract is between them and the seller. They need to go back to the seller and if not resolved look at what rights they may have.

Citizens advice will help.

From what I remember, the moderation of the classified section would be nearly a full time job.

JHC!

Okay, there are "bad" days, but on average 15 mins four or five times a day would cover pretty much all of the worst of it, there's not that many listing posted in a day, and there's only a tiny percentage that are dodgy.

I'm sure the current Mod team do their best, but when folk volunteer gratis they just have whatever time spare that they do have, and it does come off as spread a bit thinly at the minute covering both boards and Ads. A couple more Mods exclusively for the Ads could make a big difference.

It wasn't so long ago you placed adverts for your chocolates on here.

[***Mod edit - content removed. Just enforcing the rules. ;)***]

Pot - Kettle
