Aaron Foord
I often see in the classifieds items I may be interested in buying, but they never say where the items or the poster are located. Can advertisers please put their location either on the advert or in their profile? It would be a whole lot easier than having to keep mailing someone for their location. Common sense really I would have thought.
JustMe
I see things often enough that I would be interested in if I thought they might be somewhere near me but which I would not bother about if they were in far away Lerwick. No need to give addresses but some guide to location would help.
Guest posiedon
I've mentioned this twice in the past, to no avail.
Aaron Foord
It should be mandatory to have a location on your profile, and on the adverts. Any adverts that have no location or some ridiculous entry as a location should be deleted. The thing is that sellers are losing out here, because I am sure that there are many potential buyers who don't bother enquiring after an item they would like to buy because there is no location on the advert. Scorrie
Is there such an animal as a dedicated 'Classifieds' mod? If not, could a suitable candidate be recruited?
fionajohn
imo all that's needed is north, central, south or islands it could be up to the advertiser if they wanted to put a more detailed location
shetlandpeat
It should be mandatory to have a location on your profile, and on the adverts. Is that why you have done yours? I do see your point though! You could ask them in the mean time.

When I post an advert, I always put 'located in Unst' on it - which is exactly what I have said.

Ghostrider
It is a reasonable and accurate location. Not really. To many folk the first motorway in the UK is the M1, which places you anyplace between Watford and Leeds. I think I'll change mine to read "Near Norway", it would be as reasonable and accurate. shetlandpeat
I cannot be responsible for a lack of knowledge amongst folk. Even more so when they have the means to find out.
Ghostrider
^ Not on the Education Committee then, Peat. Finding out has nothing to do with it. It depends whether you mean the first piece of motorway type highway, motorway standard highway, or full length motorway.
