A very telling remark from Stewart Stevenson SNP msp at 02.10 into the debate when he stated quote ''no one cares what the statistics are up or down'' so its clear the SNP were always going to bulldoze this through no matter what evidence was provided to them which proved them wrong. All the consultations they held were a sham.  Potential SNP voters please take note.

I agree with you Colin all this consultation etc was just a charade all the SNP'S arguments for introducing this law were shown up to be bogus but they don't care the real reason is political they believe it will be popular with inner city voters therefore they are going to introduce it.One of the crazy things is it will be  much harder to get a certificate for a low powered air pistol than for a shotgun.

There own statistics prove their is no need for these new laws. Here is a link to the stats for 2013 the stats for last year are unavailable for some strange reason .I think we know why its because they will show a further large drop in offences and this would be inconvenient for the SNP at this time.  http://www.gov.scot/Topics/Statistics/Browse/Crime-Justice/TrendFirearm the fact is offences involving air guns could be zero and they would still press ahead with this.In fact a SNP msp Stewart Stevenson said as much when show the dropping crimes stats he said quote ''no one cares what the statistics are up or down''

The fact is the conservatives got a working majority and the SNP are impotent at westminster.Another thing  the SNP got around 50% of the vote in Scotland but got 56 out of 59 seats .This proves what a crooked election system we have..http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/election/2015/results/scotland

If you look at the election results you find that the SNP got 1,454,436 votes which got them 56 seats this works out at 25,972 votes to get an MP. While Labour got 707,147 votes and that got them 1 MP . If anyone cares to justify this i would love to hear it.

So much for the SNP being completely anti Tory it seems they will crawl into bed with they when it suits them .They say they hate rule from London but they seem to love being ruled by unelected bureaucrats in Brussels ..http://www.scotsman.com/news/uk/salmond-would-work-with-tories-to-keep-uk-in-eu-1-3779992
