redrobbie
Mature enough at 16 to vote but not own airgun more SNP double speak. http://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/top-stories/sturgeon-outlines-votes-at-16-referendum-plans-1-2831525
shetlandpeat
Mature enough at 16 to vote but not own airgun more SNP double speak. http://www.scotsman.com/news/politics/top-stories/sturgeon-outlines-votes-at-16-referendum-plans-1-2831525 Brilliant argument, I can see the link. Hang on, once could buy cigarettes at 16, now have to wait for 18. hmm confusing, oh, it is a health thing vs maturity. Personally, I have no problem with it. Many of these "air" guns can be based around popular "live" guns as seen on TeeVee and films. Now, if they made all airguns of that nature pink with mr blobby painted all all over them and that was the way they had to stay, I would have a problem. Alas, no, they can look like the real piece. redrobbie
Its clear the SNP are desperate to get these new laws on the statute book before the 2014 independence referendum so that they can present it as another SNP ''success'' .The fact that these proposed new laws are disproportional and riddled with anomaly's [just to name one it will be illegal for an under 18 to own a low powered airrifle but it will be legal for them to own a high powered one] does not seen to concern them.
