Tartanlass
When i needed mine dumped council came to Walls n got it free due to it being a fridge/freezer anything would be charged last year. Have they stopped this as well now then?
Hector's House
When i needed mine dumped council came to Walls n got it free due to it being a fridge/freezer anything would be charged last year. Have they stopped this as well now then? Yep, all bulky waste collections are £30 for up to 6 items - which would make sense were a group of neighbours to coordinate their disposal of white goods, but irl that never happens. Ghostrider
Is the truck tyre not as negative on the enviornment as the freezer?
JohanofNess
Nah you could use the truck tyre as a rope swing for the bairns do the playpark, alas a fridge swinging around is dangerous.

Scorrie
I have an old commercial walk in freezer full of sofas. If the Cooncil won't take it - I'm going to chuck it in Spiggie Loch and offer it as an accommodation barge for Petrofacs' overcrowded and unhappy bunnies. humptygrumpty
Yun's just the begining........Whaever said fly tipping wouldnt happen in Shetland needs to take a good hard look at his head cos its in dire need of a makeover. All the crap that used to end up in the skips will end up somewhar , yes its wrong , and yes the folks shouldnt do it , but then again was it really worth the £70.000 saving to lose the skips that loads of people used......When one middle manager could have been paid off instead.....without anyone noticing...... JustMe
I am happy to say that the area around where my local skip was sited is clear of rubbish. Maybe people are leaving things elsewhere but so far I have seen no sign of it. Possibly people are just keeping things until they have enough to justify paying the council to pick it up. tarrymittens
Getting rid of the skips was just another stupid idea by wir officials. I believe the skip contract wis only £60,000 per year, If they sacked the high paid official who came up wi da idea da Council wid probably have saved more!! unlinkedstudent and Frances144
Aaron Foord
I see there is a load of old kitchen units and pallets dumped on Saxa Vord Hill. Why is it that only the sensible amongst us could see what would happen and the councillors chose just to ignore the issue that would arise?
