Moving to Shetland - Planning a baby, supper clubs, teaching

Recommended Posts

I'll be here 9 years in September and love it. Moved from NW Ireland, settled in became part of the community, respected people and the differences, and its my home now. Get involved with local halls and community events. With a baby on the way there are lots of fantastic baby and toddler groups around which are great opportunity to meet folk. Some things can be a struggle but you learn to get on with it. As pointed out before housing can be a problem, especially at the minute. Good luck with it all.

Shetlink used to be a great place friendly and full useful information, unfortunately its now a breeding ground for negativity and begrudgers and many good folk avoid it now. Dont take your responses to this thread as true representation of all the folk up here ;-)
