Moved from NW Ireland, settled in became part of the community, respected people and the differences, and its my home now. Get involved with local halls and community events. With a baby on the way there are lots of fantastic baby and toddler groups around which are great opportunity to meet folk. Some things can be a struggle but you learn to get on with it. As pointed out before housing can be a problem, especially at the minute. Good luck with it all. Shetlink used to be a great place friendly and full useful information, unfortunately its now a breeding ground for negativity and begrudgers and many good folk avoid it now.
