How to prevent pain and ignore illnesses in the NHS

the point is that they don't actually have to tell you if they are in fact withholding information, so you might never know. To my mind it makes a complete mockery of the whole idea. Personally, I don't trust them anymore.

It is impossible to trust the NHS any more, trust is earned....it never has been with them lot. The exercise of making patients records available to them was never anything than an over-hyped farce in the first place, free and full access to them should have been a god given right from day one. Then to try and claim they are finally doing so, while retaining the right to with-hold however much of them they see fit and keeping it secret is a smoke and mirrors illusion barely worthy of a cheap, lightweight Paul Daniel's show, and a cheap PR stunt.

I Hope you get some more light shed on your situation tomorrow, it's terrible what you're going through.

I found the whole notes thing happens in Aberdeen also, after giving birth to my son, my notes somehow vanished into thin air.... all the ultrasound reports stating they'd seen every part of him, which is utter nonsense as the amount of problems that were missed they couldn't have seen it all. (For example he only has 1 kidney, but they'd ticked they'd seen both).  I'd had a detailed scans in Shetland and Aberdeen at 20 weeks, another detailed one at 28 weeks in Aberdeen and another detailed scan at 36 weeks.  I feel they'd refuse you to see your notes at times to cover their own backsides!

I had nothing but bad experiences at the health centre in town.  They stopped my sons medication, that his consultant in Aberdeen had told them to prescribe because the doctor in Lerwick decided it wasn't for long term use, knowing very little about his situation and why he was on the medication, which left us both very distressed.  Needless to say I went straight to someone higher and got his consultants in Aberdeen to sort it out.  I also was told if we needed an extra escort to come south with us for an operation he was having on his leg then i had to ask the doctors permission, the size of my son, plus him being in a lot of pain and travelling back to shetland on the plane with all our bags and his wheelchair i could not have done on my own.  The doctor point blank refused, with no explanation.  Again I went over their heads higher in the healthbored and I was told that from then on I'd never have to request an extra escort we could have one, as we clearly need it at times.  I never took him to the health centre again after that.  We moved out the town a year and a half ago and can say the care he gets at the new practice we're at is 2nd to none, they do the best they can for us.

It is for Tuesday the 1st April, can I expect to have some of the staff waiting for me, shouting April fool ?

Regards,

Rex.

I hope you didn't have to face that chorus, and have now got at least a few questions answered satisfactorily.

You must be getting very bored with a permanent diet of soup by now - there are only so many varieties after all.

Thanks folks.

In the last couple of days I've had some results. I had some bleeding and bad pain but my appetite has returned and it may be that the stone has left the kitchen. The pain has eased and my stomach is demanding food aurally

My appointment went very well, the consultant explained everything to me I will be having another x ray to check if the stone did escape. If it is still there, I will have to go to ABZ to have it dug out, I don't think that the surgeon used those words but it is what he meant. He also said that he couldn't understand why it had all taken so long. So I told him that it was inefficiency and that some people couldn't be bothered doing their jobs.

regards,

Rex.

Angel, your post moved me very much.

Thank you for telling us even though it must have been painful for you.

My problems are as of nothing compared to you and your son's and there are others that have been allowed to suffer too.

How have these neglectful and most likely criminal acts been allowed to happen?

When did they start to happen?

New empires were allowed to form and grow and their constant bleating of, " We know that we have problems but we are working through them."

!5 years later they are bleating more than the coming lambing season but I do not find them so cute.

People are dying under the present Nhs, (as I have said above), of neglect,  wrong medication, wrong diagnosis and doctors that stop the medication because they know better than our consultants.

If the above is true why are we paying the consultants?

Patients that are sent home and die a couple of hours later.

So what can we do about it?

We are at the moment bringing it to the publics attention here on this forum, it will be taken up by one of the nationals eventually. So please keep this thread going by posting your examples of neglect and dangerous behaviour.

Spring has arrived so it is a good time to prune out the dead wood.

Regards,

Rex.

  • 4 weeks later...

Well, I've been giving everyone some respite from my long post but I must keep it up. My last appointment went well with Mr MacFarlane and I told him that I thought that the stone had maybe been passed. So they have arranged another ultrasound scan for the 28th April followed by another appoinntment a half hour later  at the x-ray dept. On the 1st of May I then have another appointment with Mr Macfarlane. Unfortunately I must tell him that the pain is back again and there is occasional bleeding. So that part of my life is out of the way for now.

The next time I'm on the forum, I will tell you how I was attacked by the same dog 3 times within the last week.

No I am not accident prone!

Regards,

Rex.

I am still alive, but has anything changed?

Quite honestly I don't really know!

From the hospital point of view I went for another check with the surgeon, because I have blood in my urine again. So I have to go and see the GP again. I'm suspecting that that is so we can go through the same routine again.

My cases of dog attacks was not really the the offending dog's fault. It was attacking my dog, who is blind and has to be kept on a lead to prevent him bumping into things. The other dog was loose.

I had to go to the GBH, luckily the nurse was just up the road and came within minutes and bundled me off.

Has anyone else been getting viral warnings from the Shetlink site, this is the first time that I've able to connect for a while.

Regards,

Rex.
