carolann.t
BBC Shetland - Please can anyone let me know where the beach location is, firstly is the opening scene of the group on the beach is the same beach as where the young girl's body is discovered. Where is this? Many thanks
Muppet
The beach is in Hillswick. On the road towards the Braewick cafe/caravan park. It's the same beach in the opening scene and where the body is found.

Frances144
Did the daughter speak Gaelic to her father when she said goodbye to him the car, before she went to school?

MuckleJoannie
I just had a listen just now on iPlayer and I don't think it's gaelic Frances. It's at 3:28 approximately if anyone wants to have a listen and see if they recognise it. By the way I suspect the filmed at the AHS at the weekend due to to the remarkable lack of parked cars visible. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p01sf9kq/Shetland_Series_2_Raven_Black_Part_1/ Frances144
Frances144
Yup, exactly that, MuckleJoannie. I could not make out what on earth she was saying. I would be interested to know. And, yes, thank you Fionajohn, I do realise that we don't speak Gaelic in Shetland but tbh, the tv programme "Shetland" also doesn't have a ferry that goes south and back in a day (a telly assumption from the first series), so I am open to belief that there might be a few other gaffs here in "The Shetlands" tv prog. EM
Did the daughter speak Gaelic to her father when she said goodbye to him the car, before she went to school? Not even close. Clearly Spanish I would say.

MuckleJoannie
Google Street View, looking down to Magnus Bain's cottage. I believe someone has bought the cottage and plans to knock it down and build a new house. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@60.487329,-1.496238,3a,75y,198.99h,90t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1sfWb21lp57RmpGzYHK6yFdw!2e0

haileypuckles
Hi Carolann.t, First beach scene, with the bonfire, is da sand at St Ninian's Isle, Bigton. It then switched to Hillswick as the girls walked off the beach. 100% sure ... cause I was walking da dog there joost before they lit the bonfire.
