Are you trying to run the setup via wireless?  I wouldn't....

Use a cable if you can (either Cat5 or USB) and play with the wireless once you have things running.

Anyway for Wireless

Make sure that the printer is on the same 'network' as your pc.

Does your printer have an IP Address and, can you 'see' it?

Your router would normally issue the printer an IP Address in the range 192.168.0,1 through to 192.168.0.254 or

192,168,1,1 through to 192.168.1.254.

(Not absolute and,may vary)

Whichever scheme it uses, it should be on the same network as your PC

Try and set the printers IP Address manually.

To establish the IP Address Range your router uses do the following;

From your PC;

Start->Run->cmd

Type ipconfig and hit the enter key

Make a note of the following entry

IP Address of your PC (should be in one of the ranges quoted above and might show two different Addresses)

Gateway Address (This is 'normally' your routers IP Address)

Subnet (this is normally 255.255.255.000)

On the printers Control Panel

Select an IP Address in the same range as the router and your PC.but, NOT THE SAME ONES used by your PC (or any other devices you might have on the network such as iPhones etc.)

Enter the SubNet as above

Enter the Gateway as above.

Re run the Setup CD and see if it connects.

That should be enough to get you printing again.

  • 2 weeks later...

hi colin i got a reply from kodak saying to go to tools then internet options i'm on window 8 got tools but no internet option any idea where abouts i find them?

Yes, in Windows XP....<G>

Don't have Windows 8 so, can't offer more than general stuff but, try searching the Help for Internet Options.  That should turn something up.  Just which settings you tweak I have no idea.
