There does seem to be an issue with donating, however, it may be a logistics thing. It seems cost counts as well as platelet counts. But, many Shetland based folk travel through Aberdeen, I am sure plans could be altered to give blood here.... https://www.scotblood.co.uk/aberdeen.aspx Twerto raised it back in 2007 and the thread rumbled on until 2009... it seems there is an issue with costs and storage. On donation, I wonder how many folk who have long hair cut off donate that, anything over 6 inches or 15 (ish) CM is acceptable and helps folks with the side effects of cancer treatments.
