Colin
http://www.shetlandtimes.co.uk/2015/05/13/edge-of-the-world-base-jump-for-thrillseekers Is this a new opportunity for "business minded" Foula folk? Maybe they could launch(?) a new venture and get lots of grants for it.. I find it hard not to criticise someone who comes all the way to Shetland just to jump off a cliff but, if only we had got "Sandy's Leap" built across Lerwick harbour we could have saved the guy the worst part of his journey... Colin
To parphrase a well known comment; "I can't understand why anyone would want to jump off a perfectly serviceable cliff" Frances144
Colin
Were coastguard and lifeboat folks informed seems overly stupid to me. but then i cant stand hights Don't know and, don't particularly care (none of their business really) but, if they were "in attendance" then, who picks up the tab? If there had been an "unfortunate accident" then, I daresay that the authorities would have gone into full "action mode" and there would have been all kinds of "statements" reminding the "general public" that jumping off cliffs is dangerous.. On another level; The guy appears to be English, Let him jump or even, give him a push.....

Ghostrider
Its no different than bungee jumping, the "lemming" gene is alive, prolific and doing very well. To each their own, but I'll stick to terra firma....the harder the firma, the less the terra. paulb
Scorrie
He'd get more of an adrenaline rush if he just drove on the single track roads around here and had to deal with some of the myopic muppets hurtling towards him in clapped out Berlingos...... paulb and Aaron Foord
