It is pretty desolate here - but the Liars Support Club ensures that there's always a prominent member nearby, ready and waiting to stand up and put forward some cock-eyed reasons why we should sit down and accept that we continue to be represented in Wasteminster by the most famous liar in town, the man that is truly famous for one thing. Yes, you're right - he is not famous for his honesty. Rather, he is famous for his dishonesty and they continue to stand behind him and tell us why we should forget about the fact he's a liar, we should knuckle down and accept that because they are happy to carry on regardless, we should be too.

Some things never change. They're willing to proudly stand up for lies and dishonesty once, they're willing to proudly stand up for it forever.

At present, 61% of voters agree that he should resign but the majority won't alter them. No doubt they'll still be voting for him when he's dead and buried.

@suffererof1crankymofo I didn't mean to say people who had an opposing view were in the gutter.

It was meant to be a play on words,

Beavers having claws,

Digging for dirt using claws,

Gutter being mud/dirt in Shetland.

Obviously unsuccessful

I absolutely meant no offence and if I caused it I apologise profusely.

I don't. Think you can say 61% of voters think he should resign, unless there was a referendum that didn't include me. Anyway the SNP supporter doesn't t seem to accept what the majority say.

There's a poll at the top of the page. 61% of the voters......

sprootle....

84/55 of 139 people out of an electorate of <> 40,000 is NOT a 61% majority.

Just the kind of questionable statitics I hate..

A bit like the UK Government bombing Syria because a majority drawn from 6/700 MP's decided it was OK to do so without bothering to ask the 60+ million electors what they thought.

Some eager beavers desperately clawing in the gutter trying to dig any sort of dirt on Danus Skene to deflect attention from our lying MP and his apologists.

What've they found???

He's a well educated Christian who has an interesting family tree.

Was this damning information hard to find???

Nope, it can be found as easily as finding the nose on your own face.

Rest assured had I been dredging the gutter for dirt to dump on Skene, there's a whole lot more of it I'd have thrown in to the pot long, long before now. Fine, we get that in your opinion his religious activities, education and social standing is "irrelevant" to his electability, that's your choice, however it is equally the right of others to be of the opinion full disclosure of those things are pramount to his electability. Somehow I have great difficulty believing that you would also believe religious activities, education and social standing were "irrelevant" to a candidates electability if someone stood as candidate and did not reveal that they were are active supporter of ISIS or some other extremist group, had been cxpelled from numerous schools, and was a gypsy.

What's do deflect from our MP? He's been to court, the court has ruled "Not Guilty" as charged. Some choose to believe the bull that he lied, some choose to believe the bull that he didn't. I take the view its all been a monumental waste of resources and we're no wiser about anything today than we were in May, because the questions that needed asking, and the dirty laundry that needed airing to prove anything beyond resonable doubt have been ignored.

Granted finding details?? of Skene's religious, education and social status may be as easy as finding the nose on your face right now, but did you try looking for them before polling day? If you had you would have found it to be an entirely different story, as it was only people using their own initiative to research him and publicise what they discovered that has led to almost all of the hits that come up today. I also still maintain that presenting yourself as a candidate in an national election, and leaving it up to folk to do their own research on issues it could reasonably be expected would be among matters which would affect your electability among voters, is uncceptable behaviour.

Talking of Liars Supporters Clubs. Does anyone really believe this is telling the truth?

Mr Skene said: “I did go to Eton 50 years ago and to be honest I have forgotten all about that.

https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/politics/westminster/general-election/572371/snp-candidate-attended-school-david-cameron/

He's "forgotten" all about going to school, a place he spent as many as five of his teenage years, a place that facilitated him getting his University degrees that have been his meal ticket throughout his life, a place where among his not all that many school mates figured British and overseas Royalty and future figures within Government.

If he has genuinely "forgotten" his entire secondary school days, he'll be the first person I've come across with all their mental faculties still intact that has managed to do so. So, how many of the rest of you have "forgotten" your time in secondary school, how many of you under 70 expect to have "forgotten" it when you reach that age if you are still fully compis mentis?

No I didn't try looking for dirt on Danus Skene because I was more interested in what he was going to do for Shetland if he was elected and what his party was going to do in Westminster.

I did know he was a well educated Christian with an interesting family tree before polling day because the people who googled him and found these facts, which were in the public domain well before polling day, thought it would cost him votes.

Being a Christian wasn't going to swing my vote.

Being well educated wasn't going to swing my vote.

Having an interesting family tree wasn't going to swing my vote.

Hard to know if they were succesful.

Who would I vote for if this was the type of criteria I looked for when placing a vote?

These facts could be true of his opponents for all I know. (by the way I don't care what religion etc his opponents are)

^^Correct, I'm sure thats how most people place their vote and for the avoidance of doubt I have in the past voted for other parties and other candidates based on the same criteria.

I actually have a "live" LibDem vote as we speak having voted for Tavish Scott in the Scottish elections.

I think you might have guessed that might change though, If my man loses then that's democracy, hopefully it's a clean contest though.

totally. man is an admitted lier. even judges say so.

Maybe you should look at the skeletons in your own closet before making a statement like that!!!!

im not a mp. im not in public office. ive not lied. ive not any skeletons. a skeleton is something your trying to hide. if you believe ive skeletons you had better publish and be damned.

Maybe you should rethink your last statement, "Ive not lied".  It's very few people who have never told a lie.  Maybe you should have another look in that closet!!!

I've no links to Alistair and yes he made a mistake, but this is turning into a witch hunt.  Do you really believe any Politician to be squeaky clean?
