Bravetwin
That's exactly how it's been for me, the cough similarly described by your man, my mate down the road has had what calls the flu 3 times in 2015 & he's ex forces & the fittest man I know, this virus up here is a strange one though it's like a flu & seriously bad cold morphed in to one, please let me know when it passes & I do hope it's soon I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. Girzie
Not flu but is pretty long lasting with some similar symptoms - loss of appetite, taste, smell. Now slowly regaining strength and have been ill since 6th December....... Bravetwin
Bravetwin
It's very frustrating at this time of year when you have worked hard all year & want to enjoy the holidays, why I only ventured out rarely as not to spread the virus & made sure I had a handkerchief with me because the easiest ways of spreading viruses is by coughing your lungs up into the atmosphere, I was very careful not to share my misfortune with innocent passers by. Daegerty
Do people living in Foula, Skerries, Fair isle have better luck avoiding colds and flu than people living in the more populated and accessible places? Bravetwin
I'd imagine demographically speaking they do.

Popular Post MuckleJoannie
I don't know if it is still the same in remote areas of Shetland but it used to be people were terrified of getting the cold to the extent they literally shunned anyone who had it. There is a famous story of the man who had decided to end it all so he went to the local shop to buy a length of rope to hang himself. He then had to send somebody into the shop to buy it for him as one of the staff was suffering from a cold.
