Redrobbie99
Can anyone explain why there is such a substantial difference in the rent charged by Hjaltland and the SIC.
JOINER
The council couldnt afford new builds from council rents after housing shortages were starting to emerge before hjatland started up and couldna put the rent up bye very much so they started a kind of a quango that was hjatland hoosing and upped the rent to pay for the new builds, doing the house developments instead of the cooncil l think if i remember right it was something like that, a loop T.. Ghostrider
You get what you pay for......It allows folk the choice of reasonable public housing at a reasonable cost, or sh*te housing and sh*te service for a bit less. I very much doubt that was the reason the disparity in rent costs came in for, but its what its come down to in practice.
BigMouth
Hjaltland seem to provide modern, well insulated properties that are cheaper to run than SIC properties, from my experience. ArabiaTerra and concerned shetlander
