Ghostrider
I find a certain level of irony that Planning/Building Control are one of those having to run away before it falls on them. The phrase, 'You had one job.....' seems apt.
Wheelsup
Apparently there was a build up of brown stuff (B.S.) in the rafters. It had been designed to operate with B.S. for 25 years, but apparently there has been a huge out of control increase in B.S. Several tons of B.S. in fact putting great strain on the whole system. Frances144
So who will foot the bill for this structural work?
Wheelsup
'Tent is a covered football/hockey pitch for the new school. Da White Hoose is apparantly rented from SLAP, the Shetland Charitable Trust property wing. But as its under 10 years old it should be the builders problem? wotsit
Oh that what the white tent is for, I thought it was the new indoor riding school or one large communal tent instead of the campsite. As for the original post you just couldn't make it up. Building regs did good job at signing that one off.

Be interesting to see whether there was a 10 year warranty on par with NHBC (although they do offer them too for commercial properties) and/or whether or not it turns out to be a design fault (architect)/load miscalculation (structural engineer)/insufficient foundations ... might end up a nice insurance claim, who knows? Urabug
I'm surprised that this office was ever allowed to be built at the North Ness next to a fuel depot with a ship repair yard next to it. Welding torches, aceylene and oxygen cylinders.power tools, guess it must meet health and safety Probably lucky it is only a little subsidence(if that should be the problem) and that it is not the whole thing going ,**BOOM BOOM**. wotsit
Well, if it is subsidence, you know why that is - the big head know it all's in the basement (planning and building regs).
Suffererof1crankymofo
^ And there was me thinking it was all the biccie crumbs from the CMT meetings being dumped in a corner. as
Lerwick antiques
They might have to move to the old AHS building after the new one is complete.
