Colin
The "policy" is that there is a vocal minority against any kind of alcohol sales. Just waiting for an opportunity to "influence" decisions. George.
Ghostrider
^ Well, they think they're succeeding with smokers using similar tactics, so they need a new target to aim for now. Same old story that's been going on for time immemorial, anything some folk like and enjoy, and sometimes indulge in, but others don't like doing. Some of the 'don't like doing' will always be gits and try anything to pull the plug on it for others using the 'I don't like doing it, so you shouldn't be allowed to get enjoyment from doing it' philosophy. George.
I see overprovision of off-sales in toon is back on the agenda.I wonder if that' got anything to do with the other two thirdsof the popullation.
Urabug
Usually when folk are restricted from doing something that is the very thing they will or want to do. Think the "drug" industry might be a good example of that. This is just the so called authorities flexing there muscles again probably trying to kid us on that they are worth what they cost us. Colin
I just wish that they would take on Tesco or the Co-op and get the slap they deserve, but bullying the little guys is about all the "vocals" are good for. Just puzzled that "over provision" is being touted as a reason when, if there was "over provision", surely a few of the "over providers" would go out of business as the "market" would be saturated (no pun intended). As it stands, there can be no "over provision" as all the "over providers" seem to be doing pretty well and, more to the point, I don't see any drunks lying around the street. Truth is that I couldn't care less about someone else's agenda. Just let people live the lives they want to. Nigel Bridgman-Elliot
