Flybe still here in September

So dan, Flybe to continue a service after parting with Loganair. Of course they will know exactly how much money can be made on the routes. Least i'll be able to continue using my Flybe Spend and Fly vouchers

They're going to crash their prices, take a hit and try to run Loganair off the route. Once the competition is gone this goldmine will be theirs. Let's hope they keep up the reliability we've got'n used to. It'll keep the prices down for longer.

^ Loganair are as capable of taking a hit to run Flybe off the route, given that Flybe have posted a £2 Million loss for the last financial year, i'd be surprised if they have much leeway with their backers/bankers.

 

There may well be silly low fares from either/both while the pecking order is established, but folk best nab them while they last, for that won't be long. They'll either have to cede a winner and loser, manage to figure out how to live together, or both go bust.

 

While Flybe may offer lower posted fares, I seriously doubt there will be many last minute stand-by/cancellation etc bargains to be had with them. Going to bed with Eastern and using Eastern planes only really makes sense for Eastern if they are looking at bigger planes and combining their charter work with scheduled flights in to one - IOW, for your lower fare you'll have to share your sweat box with a crowd of impatient to get home oilys cramming it to the gunnels as often as not.

Fly with flybe/eastern and you get priority security at Aberdeen so no standing in the huge queue just straight through,plus you get the use of easterns lounge at the gate.

And on the flights you will be able to have a beer/glass of wine again!
