I have seen it pick up things that both Symantec and McAfee paid versions missed. Its very good, integrated, and you're already paying for it. Not to mention that ANY additional software has a detrimental effect on performance and creates a greater chance of conflict. Most importantly - no antivirus can match what you can do yourself. If your computer is running Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP, Windows Defender only removes spyware. That means that Defender does not do the job that need to be done.
