George.
One unfortunate thing about Bitdefender, minimum price is £20 a year. I prefer the freebies if I can get them. Having sid that, it probably does a decent job.
Spinner72
Disclaimer : personal recommendation based on plenty of experience. For windows 7 and 10, use the built in Windows Defender. I have seen it pick up things that both Symantec and McAfee paid versions missed. Its very good, integrated, and you're already paying for it. Not to mention that ANY additional software has a detrimental effect on performance and creates a greater chance of conflict. Most importantly - no antivirus can match what you can do yourself. At the most basic that means don't install random software from random places, and never open an email/link you're not expecting.

If your computer is running Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP, Windows Defender only removes spyware. That means that Defender does not do the job that need to be done. It does no more than dig out the spyware, not the viruses or the other malware. Edited February 7, 2018 by George.
Spinner72
Yes, if its an older version of Windows 7 or before, you can install Microsoft Security Essentials. https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/14210/security-essentials-download
