Frances144
Thank you for the heads up. Probably the best radio series and book ever. I remember reading it in 1981 sitting in Russell Square, London chuckling out loud thinking this has to be the best book ever. I had just had an interview for my first job, nurse training. I still think this is the best book ever. The Cutty Sark and mogling
The Cutty Sark
Great memory It was such an adventurous story, even for the time. I enjoyed both the Radio and TV editions, and took me on a never ending road of Red Dwarf and general Sci-Fi nonsense that I never quite escaped from . The Earth being demolished for a bypass? Why not! Thank you for the heads up. mogling
42 Douglas Adams quotes to live by http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/2bcFfMt6rGLTPpbG0yLwPw0/42-douglas-adams-quotes-to-live-by The link was on the BBC's HHGttG page 21. “Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.”Someone said that they reckoned Douglas Adams was probably the bestphilosopher of the 20th century. I totally agree.
Frances144
When I bought my first Apple computer, it promptly broke and I could get no help anywhere in Shetland so I wrote to Mr Adams explaining that he was the reason I had an Apple Mac. He wrote back to me and arranged for Apple to sort it all out for free. That was in 1998. Good man. No, great man.
