CrashBox
Just watched this fairly recent upload about the Faroe Islands by the Scottish journalist Lesley Riddoch. It's quite an eye-opener and shows what can be done by a remote island community.
Ghostrider
Its a pretty good vid - if you can tolerate the underlying plugging of Scottish Independence throughout. We could do much the same, but there seems to be a lack of self-belief/ambition/irrational fear of not having our hand held and general apathy here, and an almost total dearth of the ambition/vision and drive to achieve that the Faeraman seems to have. Ironic really, 150 year ago they were on the skins of their erses, we were going there and ferrying home boatloads of their cod to sell, and teaching them how to fish.....Whats happened to us? mogling
Thanks for that Crashbox, food for thought... https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b9f77w Radio Scotland 'Out of Doors' last saturday,Mark Stephen interviewed Lesley Riddoch very good listening. 'Mark speaks to journalist, author and broadcaster Lesley Riddoch about her experience of Scandinavian countries and how they might potentially offer ideas about shaping rural areas in Scotland.'
