ng7627
Does anybody know if John Lewis still deliver to Shetland. I was under the impression they did but have just tried to order a fridge. It came up with order unavailable to your delivery address or may be out of stock. I tried 3 different models and it came up with the same message so I assume it is the delivery address that is the problem. Anybody know if they no longer deliver to Shetland? Thanks. MuckleJoannie
Their website say it will take longer to deliver to ZE bu there is nothing to say they won't deliver. https://www.johnlewis.com/customer-services/delivery-information/uk-delivery
ng7627
Ok. Thanks for that. I'll try again today. It just wouldn't let me progress any further once I put the address and postcode in.
Colin
Why not try George Robertsons ? They are very competetive pricewise and will deliver to your door. ! Muckle Oxters

Aaron Foord
Yes, John Lewis do deliver up here and worth buying as the prices are so much better than up here! However, be aware that not all manufacturers have service agents up here. We have a Hotpoint fridge freezer bought from John Lewis but they could not service it if it went wrong, in or out of guarantee and since there is not a Hotpoint agent in Shetland, that means you are taking a slight gamble with some manufacturers. tangie
Just recently got a fridge freezer from John Lewis.Their prices are a bit higher for large domestic appliances than some other suppliers, but they are the only supplier I have dealt with which do not charge extra for delivery to the Isles.Well worth supporting. ng7627
Thanks everyone for your replies. I usually do buy from Geordie Robertson's but this time there was a choice of 1 for the size I needed. I phoned John Lewis today as I still couldn't get the order processed online and the girl did it over the phone.
Frances144
Do John Lewis no longer carry the slogan “never knowingly undersold”?
ll
If George Robertson’s do not stock the model you are after, can they not get it in? I’ve seen on two occasions, getting something specific ordered and were always excellent on price, plus added peace of mind in case any proper back up is required. Everything is getting that complicated nowadays and seems to be made to discourage diy repairs.
paulb
they are made so you cant fix them. look at TVs. once it was a quick visit from a repairman and a valve was switched. now you would have to replace half of the telly. at a higher cost than buying new. dryers in point the back bearing wares with age. it used to be reasonably easy to replace it for under10quid. now they weld it to the drum. Many appliances are still repairable but it is the overall cost of repair that makes it uneconomical. The repair man has to be paid for the time it takes to identify the fault , specialist equipment ,order replacement bits ,fitting those new parts and premises to work from ect,ect ,it all adds up. Most times a quick calculation and the faulty item is destined for the skip I had a Sony tv that lasted 12 years fault free !
