I just did a basic search previously, MJ, to get the company information and didn't open an account to view the attached documentation. With reference to the meeting documentation and the 'family tree' on Shetland Aerogenerator Ltd's website, or if they would have you believe, Viking Energy's website, it wasn't clear. My understanding was that Viking Energy Shetland LLP already existed and had already been approved. However, you are saying that partnerships are changing to LLP? The SCT documentation also stated that it was to obtain bank finance more easily.

Paragraph 3.1 of the CT report mentions two LLPs. Viking Energy Shetland LLP has been set up, incorporated on 15 February 2012. The Joint Venture partnership is to become Viking Energy LLP. This is currently an unincorporated partnership. The reason given for becoming an LLP is that as a body corporate it can grant a floating charge over assets (similar to a mortgage but not fixed to any particular asset until it is called in). And as Dratsy says it give the participants limited liability.

Viking Wind is registered at the same address as Shetland Aerogenerators and very close to MD Developments. The IP could be shared, the web site may be VE but hosted via a shared IP. All three have the same director. You would need to see if there are any payment between them as to the sharing of a server.

^ The 'Viking Energy' domain is registered to 'Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd"....the fact that physical hardware and/or may or personnel may not be shared is irrelvant. The website is "owned" by a company wholly unconnected to 'Viking Energy'. Why?

 

Surely an enterprise of the status of 'Viking Energy' should, and should want to have their website in their own control and ownership, unless of course there's something afoot somewhere.....

^ Yes, we know all this, but not everybody does. Anybody unfamiliar with the tangled web of paper SCT/Burradale/SSE have weaved so far, is being led to believe "Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd/" and 'Viking Energy' are connected companies. Unless we've been consistently lied to this far, they have no connection whatsoever, they only coincidentally share some of the same personnel.

 

There is nothing necesarily wrong with 'Shetland aerogenerators Ltd.' being in charge of the 'Viking Energy' website, what is wrong is the lack of honesty and transparency. all it would have taken to make it kosher would have been a small disclaimer at the bottom of the landing page saying something like, 'This site is provided on behalf of 'Viking Energy' by arrangement with 'Shetland Aerogenerators Ltd." We are talking a shedload of public funds here, certain ethical standards are expected in published material, as legal ones, which is a whole other can of worms as far as 'Viking Energy' is concerned.

Interesting. So, just to be clear, the SCT meeting scheduled but aborted on Monday 16th was to approve the release of the £6.3 Million to who, Viking Energy Shetland LLP, or Viking Energy LLP. This does not seem clear in Jeff Goddard's report to the meeting, which chooses to use the term "the project" in most instances.
