Davie P
It may be because of your own political leanings that you believe it is only those on other side of the political spectrum who are ever 'disrespectful'. Are you claiming that there hasn't been any disrespectful rightwing political descent in recent years?
Watter
I would love to have been provided with a link to Neil Riddel's letter, but I wasn't. The queen will be on the telly on Christmas day though, and that will be better than complaints with no justification at all, not that there's any justification to maintain the Greco-Germanic ones either.https://www.shetnews.co.uk/2019/12/13/election-result-a-disaster-for-country-and-community-alike/
Watter
The people filmed on that march were very representative of the people currently running the Labour party far left university educated middle class brats . Our universities these days seem to be marxist brain washing centers who churn out tens of thousands of these indoctrinated ''progressive '' zombies every year . The worrying thing is eventually these are the kind of people who will be in charge of education politics the media the law every thing . Colin
What else can you expect from an education system that has been "dumbed down" to let even more "dumb" people in ? Nigel Bridgman-Elliot
Watter
They now have a no platform policy for anyone who disagrees with their political views and will physically attack anyone who tries to do so . Here is an example of their behavior .
Capeesh
This election has certainly emboldened the far right, it's frightening. Neil Riddell should be applauded for bravely sticking his neck out and publicly calling it out. NullVoid
The way the far left operate reminds me of how the followers of Shoko Asahara operated It gained official status as a religious organization in 1989 and attracted a considerable number of graduates from Japan's elite universities, thus being dubbed a "religion for the elitethere are some uncanny parallels Aum Shinrikyo members infiltrated many organisations including local authorities this enabled them to establish areas where they could break the law without interference. Why did they carry out the attacks they did? What about the members being given advanced warning of planned investigations of sites where these chemicals were being manufactures Humanity would end, except for the elite few who joined Aum. Aum's mission was not only to spread the word of salvation, but also to survive these End Times. Asahara predicted that Armageddon would occur in 1997. It doesn't matter that that was a heap of sprootle that didnt stop true believers from ruining peoples lives. Look at far left activists engaging in politically motivated violence, putting people in the hospital and being let off the hook. Infiltration, Pure subversion Look at their friends in high places

As opposed to the disproportionate number of Oxbridge educated government ministers? It is interesting to that you have framed historic seats of learning and debate as "marxist brain washing centers" who engage in "indoctrination". That's a sweeping statement! Would you care to back up your assertion with some evidence? Posting a video of an incident doesn't really cut it.
Davie P
If we take left and right out of the equation, basically what is happening here is that the 'winning' side is telling the 'losers' to shut up, and one side sees the other as engaging in far worse behaviour than their own side. This happens when democratic systems become polarised and those with more extreme opinions become emboldened (currently there is a global trend toward electing rightwing populist leaders which is pushing the left further too). Political discourse then moves from trying to achieve a mutually beneficial consensus to idealogical rhetoric. Note that this thread has no discussion about policies - it is almost entirely rhetoric, name calling, telling people to shut up, calling for people to be lined up and shot etc from people who seem to have a leaning to the political right. It makes for pretty grim reading. Edited December 15, 2019 by Davie P Roachmill
Watter
From a Shetland respective its clear a clear majority of voters want to remain in both the EU and the UK . It now seems we will be out the EU soon but if as seems likely the SNP secure a new independence referendum promising reentry of an independent Scotland to the EU Shetland voters will have to decide which is more important to them membership of the UK or the EU because they can't now have both . Which is it going to be ? Edited December 15, 2019 by Watter
NullVoid
People will begin to disregard the ballot box as a means of changing anything and many already have If nothing changes despite changes in voting patterns this view will be reinforced. George.
^^Personally, I believe that we should ditch the E.U. Then fish will be left in the water for us to benefit from, and not them. We should also dump the rest of the U.K. as they strip us bare - and never have the courtesy to even say thanks. NullVoid
Just need to install leadership that would get the ball rolling and establish an organisation to enforce and defend it The second Scottish independence referendum is being held in England and Wales to ensure a different result so you would negotiate with the newly independent Scottish government Be careful with how you handle the oil or somebody might try to install "freedom and democracy" like in Iraq or Libya after they decided to use the Euro or gold instead of USD That settles the issue of currency

Popular Post Davie P
That's a pretty dubious video from a dubious source. Misattributed quotes, footage edited to make people look like they've said something they haven't, strings of insults... and I stopped watching at 2 mins. If you're going to take umbrage to a local journalist writing "left wing slurs" about Boris Johnson, then using videos from Paul Joseph Watson as evidence to back up your points is somewhat ironic.
