  1. Kavi Ugl

    Scallaway Museum

This is simply great news and all the folk who have worked so hard to bring it to fruition deserve a medal. I can't wait to see the finalised museum next year. £11 million on Mareel while the Scallaway Museum had to "beg, borrow and steal" and will even be manned by volunteers. And in my book I know which of the two is of more value to Shetland's culture. http://www.shetnews.co.uk/component/content/article/36-latest-new/382-a-new-future-for-scalloways-past.html

  2. Ooh .. you don't want them Basically, it's a way for the moderation team to increment a users warning points and show to the community how not to act per se. The idea of Shetlink was an online community that'd ideally attempt to travel along the lines of Forum use - guidelines and netiquette and Terms & Conditions / Privacy Policy along with just some general manners and common sense! An online sitting room, if you will, one where people can come in and enjoy themselves.

  3. This update is excellent - thanks! The classifieds with photo previews, public questions (so many folk must ask the same questions), improved search/sorting, formatting editor are good useful additions.

  4. Whatever you do gringo97 it might be best you avoid the southern tip of Shetland for your moorings. Lest we forget, this is a reminder of what mother nature threw at us Feb 4th this year. 5. Three things to keep an eye out for when getting your driveway done. 1. Are they just digging off the tar, what condition is the material underneath. 2. How thick are the laying the tar. 3. How are they compacting the tar. The most common complaint after a gypsy tarmac job is that the tar breaks up and comes away within months, this is caused by it being too thin, laid on a poor base or not compacted correctly.
