  1. This is hilarious! It is Mays deal! She handicapped herself by losing her majority, ridiculous Red lines and not facing up to the ERG. The Tory party owns this situation and it is they who are destroying the UK. I do believe we've found the one UK resident who believes the utterances from Boris' own mouth. Poor old Boris! He's finally gotten the job he always wanted and is showing himself to be pretty useless; just watch him on PMQs and not the 5 second clips on the news. Being in bed with Mogg, Farage and Bannon you can bet your bottom dollar they're lined up to make a hefty profit from no-deal. If you think any one of them has an ounce of concern for the nation as a whole then please pass your pills around 'cause I want some

  2. The reason I wouldn’t have understood it is quite simple. The government sent out a leaflet to every home prior to the vote, headed “a once in a generation decision” and whilst they recommended that we should remain in the EU, it clearly stated “ the referendum is your chance to decide whether we should remain in or leave the European Union. The leaflet went on to say the following: “This is your decision. The government will implement what you decide”. That seems pretty clear to me. No where in this leaflet did it state your vote will only be advisory. I would think that most people reading this leaflet would assume the outcome of the vote would be carried out. As a person who voted to remain, I was disappointed with the result, but as I believe in democracy, I accept the result.

  3. ^It was always put forward as a vote that would have a direct result. Cameron put it forward as such.

    Brexit (merged threads)

Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind, will Boris turn out to be one who get things done !!!! The question is: what is he trying to get done and why. He's in it for himself and certainly not the good of the country. I would sincerely hope that he has enough gumption to know that if it is found out that he is doing this for personal gain he will be well and truly ***ked..

  5. By recycled I mean reused with other projects. Giving a higher interest/higher risk/delayed repayment loan would allow projects to go ahead with the serious companies and hopefully put off the big companies who don't really need to be subsidised but the public purse.

  6. Would be a great solution but won't be financially viable, reason being Scottish Enterprise is involved and generally only help projects that don't have a hope in being successful or hand out 'grants' to multimillion pound companies who don't IMO really need it. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/secret-firm-handed-500k-public-12828530 I'm not a big supporter of these agencies issuing grants but believe a loan would be more suited and the money could be 'recycled' as it is repaid.

  9. No we just have to accept that a referendum is advisory unless it specifically says so in the legislation. The only progress that an election would bring is that a no deal Brexit would happen on the sly.
