Regardless how widely used the phrase is, it is still an accurate definition. It's not you out of touch with modern society; modern society has been, for the large part, kept out of touch with itself and the reality of the situation by the good drug/bad drug labels that many people use for their belief systems, based around that which is legal/illegal.

  7. They'd likely say what a bloody stupid point to attempt to make over various ares of study, by grouping them together under one headline and insisting that your own conspiracy; that anyone who does not believe all that the television tells them, must be the same people who search for symbolism in the use of pens over pencils. Optical scanners used for reading pencil voting have more to do with this, than the rise of the new world order... Probably.

  9. There's a difference between sick jokes and dark humour, although sick jokes may be called a type of dark humour; dark humour does not have to present itself as a sick joke, any more than any individual has to. I could be wrong but I don't think Bill Hicks ever mocked the tragedy of others, except perhaps the tragedy of the stupidity of some. I think to Hicks, the traumas of the external world were more of the driving force behind his humour, rather than the target of it. Big up the Hickster; rrrrrrrrrrrrrespect!! Get well soon.

  12. Yup, I did say that and there was also a retraction of the term, though I don't know if it's still on the boards. That was in the early days of the debate, when it was still a bit of a shocking realization that so much, was not as it is told it is. It was never said that the nazis didn't carry out extreme crimes in a very anti-semitic way and there are plenty of reliable tales of mass slaughter of Jews. Like I said, it was early days in it for me and if the term used caused offense, then I apologize but sometimes the tone of the debate gets dragged down when your in my face with non stop abuse. I don't much like being called a nazi either or the dozens of other lies you attribute to me.

  15. The 'point' here is something you have no grasp of. This is not the who thinks drugs are great thread, but one to discus whether the legalisation of drugs would bring more harm or some good to the present situation. Your entire position has revolved around the same dishing out of abuse at those attempting to discus the issues, if they do not match your opinion to the letter. Well that and your usual enraged, foaming, Gerard John Schaefer style rant about women; which coupled with your urges to cause people pain and torture, is starting to make you look, not just void of any useful input to the topic but also quite creepy and sinister.
  16. Pot smokers are already penalized under the law and with far greater penalties for growing; most also rely on and pay the black market to avoid being further penalized. Smack heads can already get free smack in the form of methadone. Reduction may work for many if they are serious about getting help to get off but in a whole lot of cases, many seem to just use it to maintain the habit until they can get their hands on the real deal. Someone is already on smack so that's a moot point but since it needs to be said again; this is about harm reduction for them and us and if it's a choice between forcing them into a crazy life as an outlaw and all the implications that has on society or dealing with it in a realistic way which has been proven to show many benefits; option 2 seems to be the way. Can be clearly shown to be a false assumption... Your main point throughout this, was that junkies want to steal your stuff. I have provided the proof from the real actual world that this would not be the case, if we followed suit. You can and no doubt will, just continue to hurl abuse as your reasonable argument against but a straight answer would be nice. If none of the addicts have been in trouble, does it not point to an effective solution because you can't really put it down to policing or the conviction rate would be up surely. Yes some of us here want to see a cheaper solution that doesn't involve killing people.
  17. It's not sold over the sweetie counter but given freely to those who really need it. It seems to be that just the very idea of free smack being used as a solution to a smack problem, that sticks in the craw of so many and leads them to assume, anyone supporting it must be; (as has been posted on Shetlink)..."desperate to fill society wi degenerates to the point of collapse" It may be an understandable knee jerk reaction to the idea at first glance but once it is spelt out with the reasons why, I fail to see how anyone can make a rational case against it. It is not a magic bullet solution to stopping people taking drugs because there is no such thing but the massive harm reduction it would bring is surely clear to be seen. And then there's the evidence... http://www.rnw.nl/english/article/free-heroin-brings-everyone-a-bit-peace I've never been anywhere near Utrecht so that may well be "fictitious nonsense gleaned off the internet" as is usually put up as a counter argument about this point but if you care to check through the many reports about the introduction of this policy; you may well find yourself also coming to the conclusion that the system works.
