  1. Not going to happen and if it does (without England) look out for many players calling off leaving a team with no purpose playing NI and Wales.
  2. Left for £1m a year and competative football. Not to mention the fact that if he failed to take Scotland to South Africa, expectations appear to be that high, he would be hounded and his stick greatly reduced. What managerial experiance does McCallister have again?
  3. The Queens English but her family are German and her husband is a Greek. Get rid of them all.
  4. Perhaps that would be the first step for the teams development and where the bulk of the spend will go over the next few seasons? Maybe have to wait before starting another drain on finance?
  5. All comes down to cost. Not sure anbout further grant aid as I suspect the SFA use up their "quota" on senior county, Island Games, running costs etc? It would have to run by the senior Association because they are affiliated to the SFA through the SJFA and a reprasentative team has to be affiliated to play in those type of competitions. Not convinced that there are the tournaments available. Most of these things are run for kids (under 18) and those that are not tend to included pro or semi-pro set ups and would be beyond Shetland and hard to get into.
  6. Up to the SFA I would think. Who and where would they play and who would fund it?

    Scotland v Italy

Can't complain and despite the tabloid sports hacks claiming we had been "robbed" the better team won. Never a foul in a million years for the last goal but the defending was amateurish, at both goals actually. 4-5-1 for 80 minutes when we needed to win? Italy had a perfectly good goal disallowed. Our goal was offside. The team did well and gave their all but I felt Weir was poor and Fletcher anonymous throughout. The chance was, in my eyes, blown in Georgia because they were there for the taking. Perhaps if all the players had turned up and Eck had been brave enough to have a go out there we could have had a real chance to qualify, but be honest if we had have secured a draw on Saturday are France going to lose to Ukraine? To crown a poor day the Russians fail to win. Ach well it means that there won't be many reasons to watch a lot of Euro 2008 on the telly. It was fun while it lasted and here's hoping for a favourable draw for the World Cup.

Did William Wallace say "we're going to get hammered" at Stirling. NO Did Robert the Bruce say "it's the taking part" at Bannockburn. NO And neither did a tartan clad hielander say it at Culloden.

^ I Agree, saves me writing. ( *** MOD - And the '^' saves excessive quoting *** ) But it lets people know what I am actually agreeing with.

What result is people's mortgage going on?
  14. No I didn't. I did and still am comparing it to those who moan about teams, their own or others, who take a heavy defeat. Simple as that.
  15. Of course it does. My point, and I suggest you know fine well, is that Besiktas are hardly going to complain that Liverpool are to good for them and ask to be allowed to play in the UEFA cup insteed because "we canna compete, da bigger boys are scoring to many"  As I say get on with it, if you want to play, play. Ness United, Celtic, Scalloway and even Delting have taken the same heavy defeats on the road to where they al ar now. Swings and roundabouts.
  16. Are they? Did they release a statement especially? I think that the only happy people are Liverpool and their fans. I don't hear anyone from UEFA complaining, nor Besiktas for that matter.
  17. By christ UEFA are happy with Liverpool 8, Besiktas 0 in the champions league. There are "wir no winnin, wir no good enough, wir no playin" splits in all leagues and competitions. Get on wi it.
  18. Had to laugh at the BBC telly report on this news story, as far as I could tell all the footgae used was in fact Orkney.
  19. To answer the thread question, the weather and associated arthritis.
  20. I can't put an answer down. I assume prostitutes fall broadly into three groups, those who do it to feed an addiction, those who are forced into it and a very small group who see it as a worthwhile career path. I just don't know what effect legalisation would have on the pimp-slave relationship as I assume that if it was legalized then taxes, VAT and NI would be payable.
  21. ... and that is running the country???
  22. Flabbergasted of soothend here. Are you telling us that this Unst/Burra merger is true, has been done and that the Association allowed it? If that is the case some people need a shake. Sustainability, community clubs and even downright common sense have clearly been thrown out with all the dummies. Can someone tell me, without the nonsense of “dem an wis†why the halifax Unst and Yell, Burra and Scalloway don’t just see sense and have the same A and B set up Bunst (who came up with that) appear to have entered into? The anti Scalloway thing from Burra is simply childish. I can see that if both Unst and Yell feel they can sustain A teams then “independence†is fair enough. But can either over the long term on their own? Chance lost.
  23. It might have been a Fokker… or a fokker in a Meschersmitt. Boom boom. A’ll get me coat.
  24. That's a lame excuse I'm doon the soothend and have a flat tyre.
