Hello everyone, I am a researcher conducting research for my master's thesis on Shetlanders' views on Scottish Independence and/or Shetland Independence. I would like to talk to people of all sorts and all political persuasions - from those who are against any constitutional change, to those who are planning on voting "yes" on the Scottish Independence Referendum, to those few elusive individuals who support the "referendum on the islands" (ROTI) petition. Hello Everyone, I'm an anthropologist from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) currently conducting research on the Shetland dialect in Bressay. I'm not so much interested in compiling a dictionary or wordlists as that has already been done. Rather, I'm interested in hearing about people's use of the dialect and how the dialect relates to their life histories. Currently, I am looking for some individuals, who would be interested in being interviewed on a semi-regular basis. If you're interested, please feel free to PM me.
