This reminds me of a story about a fellow heading north from Dundee to Aberdeen in his van one day a few years ago before it was all duel carriageway. some where around Arbroath a cat ran out in front of him and alas he could not stop quick enough but when he did sure enough lying at the side of the road was a cat, as he hit it at 50mph and it was surprisingly still breathing he decided the kindest thing to do was dispatch it as quickly as possible. so fetching a shovel from the back of his van with one swing the cat was duly dispatched. he scraped it up and placed it under a bush and carried on his way. A few miles further on he was surprised to see the police behind him blue lights flashing and indicating for him to pull over, this he did and was confronted by a pair of large angry coppers. surprised that the killing of a cat while driving warranted this response he remonstrated with plod 1 while plod 2 did the usual vehicular walk around. Plod 1 was getting angrier by the second while plod 2 at the front of the van was laughing his ass off. Once his mirth subsided he invited plod 1 and my mate to come round the front of the van and see what was amusing him so, and there splattered across the front grill was a very f****d cat. And back down the road was a very upset lady who while standing at her kitchen sink had watched this guy pull over at the side of the road get out and fetch a shovel to kill her poor tiddles who was sunning himself outside on the pavement. The moral of this story, well I don't know if there is one but it sure as hell made me laugh

Proposed Dales Voe Deep - Water Decommision Base Project .
Dratsy replied to Keedle's topic in Shetland News
considering that mallies are a very recent incommer to these isles then I reckon the only ones ever eaten were eaten by mistake. If you ever smelled a mallies puke you would know why even if they had been here since time immemorial that it is highly unlikely they would have been on the menu. my comment may have been negative but it was definately tongue in cheek where as your comment shows a distinct lack of wit concerning local wildlife, typical of the tree hugging brigade -

Bloody mallies should be shot on sight, there has been nothing more destructive for the local bird life than the recent influx of bloody mallies. stinking bloody vermin -
Modern yachts cross the atlantic in a matter of days AT where as a hundred years ago it could take them months. so a present day navigation of the northwest passage proves sod all. but the fact that explorers thought it possible (whether succesful or not) a hundred or more years ago says a great deal. But you carry on living your life as if the world is going to end tommorrow and I will live mine like each day might be my last. But one thing is for damned sure there will be others spouting the same doomsday crap long after both you and I are worm food.
-
I would reckon sea ice a hundred years ago was less than now simply due to the fact that so many explorers were pushing for the northwest passage.

ArabiaTerra In a normal winter the Arctic experiences approximately six months of total darkness. so now the periods of daylight are changing, my god what are we to do no more long winter nights. We are doomed I tell you.
-
no offence peat but I would not take your advice on how to cross the road far less anything to do with boats.
-
give me a break you think a couple of lessons will make you safe in a boat after having been a passenger on one a couple of times. Please it takes experience in local waters to become competant. Get here get plenty of time in with locals that know the waters, then and only then buy a boat suitable for you to opperate safely.

at the end of your last but one post op8s you say that the lib dems will just do as they are told. But as it is a SNP policy it has damn all to do with the lob dems or the tories for that matter. But all to do with a bunch of lefty racist morons whose stupidity is only going to increse english supermarkets profits.

jesus h i like a drink so why are you not paying for it op8s. I want to sit a drink all day so give me alchohol and money to keep me topped off whenever i want it. Or maybe i should put the needs of my family before my own like any right thinking parent would and stop pleepsin about how everyone else needs to fund my adiction.

So you are happy enough to use the free service that they provide but not willing to shop there. If we all took your attitude then there would be no camera centre and nowhere for you to drop of your chemicals. If you live locally then a healthy local trade helps you and all your neighbours.
-
you just keep telling yourself that dear
-
back in your hands 24 hours after sending it away, hand couriered I guess because the royal mail wont manage that And still 12 times longer than the camera shop
-
there is always the danger that someone who starts on breast milk may want to upgrade to something stronger if you preach that cannabis and heroin are one and the same then you are sending out the completely wrong message. I WISH
-
see if the interweb can return it to you in 2 hours
-
the camera shop overpriced? I think you are havering, I always found them to be as cheap as shops south or the internet.
-
good fur de but du is in da minority just take a look next week at the celtic end.
-
Why if celtic fans are not religious bigots do they insist on having a version of the irish flag that has a yellow bar and not an orange one like the real flag? the original flag was supposed to portray peace between orange and green. Of the original irish republican movement quite a lot of them were protestants

The paint for both these houses was supplied by Halcrows Shop in Burra. At a very reasonable price too i hear.

Forgive my ignorance but for the life of me I can't find it on any map, maybe you could help? the arab headdress is commonly known as a "Keffiyeh" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keffiyeh#Varieties_and_variations I know using wiki is pretty lazy but if it fits the term tuban is is one used by westerners who are wholly ignorant of this fact. your quotation is i would suspect taken from a newspaper and as such subject to translation errors. although gaddaffi speaks pretty good english he tends not to, even when dealing directly with western leaders like tony blair he uses a translator. One theory for this is that after the talking is done he can change his mind and blame any inconsistency on poor translation. But hey this is totally of topic so lets get back to Highland fuels aren't they a bunch of c*** s****ers
