  1. I must tell you that the proposed parish league doesnt have the backing of the parish cup association at the moment. It looks like the whalsay may be able to enter a team as they are looking to have a third side anyway. Northmavine would cover the delting area with the wrultizers works league team. We dont want to be in competition with the A league and dont want teams that strong in the parish league so delting would seem to be a non-starter. Perhaps what we are proposing is a league that would be in competition with the B league. What the parish league would offer is football at a better standard than B league. It would be much more competetive anyway. Maybe delting could enter in the future but that would depend on some of the players from that area playing for northmavine. The way we see it at the moment that is delting B have alot of players who are too good for that standard of football. Two teams from that area in the parish league could balance that out though.
  2. A parish league would encourage yell and unst to have their players playing A league. A full strength unst side would probably win the parish league but we dont want to have runaway winners. The parish league would be a league played in a good spirit where every team would have a chance to win one of the cups. As for all this nonsense about teams joining together i dont see how it would last. It hasnt lasted in the past. The proposed parish league is a way for every team to keep their identity.
  3. I got a phone call this mornig to tell me what was going on here. The idea of a parish league is the early stages. It wouldnt just be for parish teams but would be open for everybody. The name parish league just comes from the fact most teams would be parish cup teams but it may not be called that. Theres alot of support for the idea and im sure well all know more in the near future. What we dont want is for this to be talked about by everybody and end up having a witch hunt at the sfa agm. Whalsay would of course be welcomed. Especially if they want to form a third team anyway. They would have to be called symbister though because we dont want to have to lock horns with the sfa. Hope i can answer any reasonable questions for you but must point out that i can only speak for my club at this stage.
